Healing Through Rhythm — Stephanie Spreeman’s Drum Party
Rhythm isn’t just sound—it’s a heartbeat. For Stephanie Spreeman, rhythm became a lifeline, a healing force, and a way to bring communities together. Today, as the founder and executive director of the nonprofit Drum Party, Stephanie channels that power into therapeutic drumming experiences that inspire wellness, connection, and joy.
A Journey of Healing Through Rhythm
Stephanie’s love for percussion began in South Texas, where she discovered music as a source of strength and self-expression. After surviving a devastating drunk-driving accident as a teen that left her with severe injuries, she turned to rhythm as part of her healing process. Drumming wasn’t just music—it became therapy, helping her rebuild balance, restore confidence, and find resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
A Nonprofit With a Purpose
Drum Party is more than a program—it’s a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to bringing the healing power of rhythm to those who need it most. By making rhythmic healing accessible, inclusive, and joyful, Drum Party offers services that touch lives across the Fredericksburg region and beyond.
Programs That Make an Impact
Elder Wellness Programs – Group drumming provides seniors with social connection, stress relief, and movement that stimulates both body and mind.
Veterans’ Support – Therapeutic drumming circles help veterans process trauma, manage stress, and connect with others who share their experiences.
Programs for People with Dementia – Rhythm-based activities support cognitive stimulation, memory, and emotional expression for individuals living with dementia, while also giving caregivers uplifting moments of connection.
Community Drum Parties – Bringing people together across all ages and backgrounds to experience the unifying power of rhythm.
Why Rhythm Works
Rhythm has a unique way of calming the nervous system, reducing anxiety, and opening space for joy and healing. Through group experiences, drumming also builds community, strengthens communication, and reminds participants that they are not alone.
Join the Movement
Stephanie Spreeman’s Drum Party is proof that healing doesn’t have to come from medicine alone—it can come from the beat of a drum, shared in community. Whether you’re an elder seeking connection, a veteran searching for peace, or a family touched by dementia, Drum Party offers a space to restore, release, and celebrate life through rhythm.
